In the world, Canadian cities are among the most livable due to their friendly ethnic populations and comfortable climate throughout the year.
You may have thought about the procedure for obtaining permanent residency in Canada if you want to study there before finding employment there.
To obtain a visa, you will need to show documentation of your language proficiency, whether it be in English or French, to demonstrate that you can communicate with ease.
You should take the IELTS General Training test, which is the test of choice for immigration to Canada, to demonstrate your English language skills.
We'll go over the IELTS score you will need for Canadian permanent residence below.
Requirements for a minimum IELTS score
There are three ways to obtain permanent resident status in Canada:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
You should make sure that your IELTS test results are valid for the full six-month period that the IRCC needs to process your application.
Express Entry requires a minimum CLB 7 score for language proficiency or an IELTS score of 6.0 overall to qualify for permanent residency.
There are various language competency requirements for each program. Listening, reading, writing, and speaking are the four subcategories used to evaluate your language abilities. Your points are distributed in accordance with your CLB Level (Canadian Language Benchmark).
