CBSE Board 2023- What are competency-based questions

For CBSE Board Exam 2023, there will be some changes in the question pattern. Following the introduction of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the CBSE advised schools to follow the recommendations regarding the pattern.
The questions will comprise multiple formats such as objective type, constructing response type, assertion and reasoning, and case-based

In the academic session, 2022-23, approximately 40 percent of questions in class 10 board examinations and approximately 30 percent of questions in Class 12 are competency-based.
Questions
The details were shared by Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi in response to a written question in Lok Sabha.
Announcement
The aim is to start Competency-based learning, adoption of learning outcomes, and
experimental and joyful learning. Introduction of courses on art-integrated education, emphasis on
foundational literacy and numeracy, storytelling, etc.
Aim
The theory-based CBSE board exam 2023 will begin on February 15, 2023, while the practical exam is set to start in the first week of January 2023.
