IELTS can be given online and offline both. However, PTE is a computer delivered test only.

IELTS is conducted by the British Council, IDP : IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English whereas PTE is conducted by Pearson PLC

Way of speaking test
In IELTS, face to face speaking is conducted with the examiner whereas in PTE you tend to use a microphone.

Scoring scale
IELTS is evaluated on the scale of 0 to 9 band score whereas PTE is evaluated on a scale of 10 to 90 points.

Result
For IELTS, the paper test takes around 13 days and the online test takes around 3 to 5 days whereas in PTE the result is available within five days.
