Difference between IELTS Academic and IELTS General

Just to brief you, it is important for you to know that IELTS is the only standardized exam of checking your level of English Language wherein you can choose between two different types of test, IELTS Academic and IELTS General
IELTS Academic passages are more difficult than the IELTS General. In the former there are three long excerpts whereas the later includes daily life excerpts.
Reading module
IELTS Academic comprises topics from your previous study programmes whereas IELTS General comprises topics from everyday life
Writing module
The scoring format of IELTS Academic is different from that of IELTS General

To acquire Permanent Residency, you must give IELTS General.
