How to convert TOEFL Scores to CEFR Levels

The TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test) exam is one of the most popular English proficiency exams accepted at American and Canadian universities. The full form of TOEFL is the Test of English as a Foreign Language and is conducted by ETS.
Not a test
CEFR is an international standard outline for describing learning, teaching, and assessment abilities on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. CEFR is NOT a test.
TOEFL results are based on the section-wise scores determined by the ETS. Have a look at the range and CEFR levels:

114–120=C2, 95–113=C1, 72–94=B2, 42–71=B1, n/a=A2, n/a=A1, n/a=Below A1
TOEFL score range to CEFR levels- Reading section

29–30=C2, 24–28=C1, 18–23=B2, 4–17=B1, n/a=A2, n/a=A1, n/a=Below A1

29–30=C2, 24–28=C1, 17–23=B2, 13–16=B1, 7–12=A2, n/a=A1, n/a=Below A1

Highest measurement precision
The TOEFL iBT test provides the highest measurement precision at language proficiency levels B2 and C1, which are typical requirements for admissions in higher education institutions.
