IELTS LISTENING BAND SCORE

Based on the total number of right responses—the raw score—the IELTS listening band score is determined. An IELTS listening score band of nine is derived from the total number of accurate responses received out of a possible 40.
An audio clip is played synchronised with the 40 questions that relate to the content in the audio, and one mark is awarded for each correct answer.
Academic and general training students have the same listening module but the target band score varies as per their needs.
Usually, academic students have to ensure they cross the 6.5 band bracket by attempting more than 26 correct questions.
General training students must score above the 8 band bracket by attempting more than 36 correct questions.
