Concerns about the JEE Mains' marks vs. percentile are common among students. To fully get the idea, keep reading.
Result announcement
Candidates' JEE Main 2023 results will be made public by NTA in the form of percentile scores. The JEE Main percentile scores are normalised candidate marks rather than the candidates' actual marks.
JEE Mains marks
As part of the marking scheme, NTA will sum the students' raw marks and normalise them for percentile scores for each of the three subjects—Maths, Physics, and Chemistry and overall.
JEE mains percentile
Percentile scores, which are calculated on a scale of 100 to 0 for each session, show the percentage of applicants that scored the same as or lower (same or lower raw scores) than that specific percentile in that exam.
What is normalization?
The normalization of marks, which is determined by the NTA method, is not the actual score but rather a comparative score.
