What are good IELTS scores for US university admissions?

The maximum IELTS band required by a university is 8.5 as per the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University. The majority of the top universities require at least band 7.0, according to the TES 2015 World University Rankings.
Over 3,000 institutions accept IELTS in the US. The score requirements vary according to the university you select and the state you wish to study in.
An average English user should be able to achieve at least a band score of 6.0. However, be sure to properly research and learn about the requirements for your course or college.
