It's crucial for students to be aware of their legal rights. Even though, Indian Law nowhere defines the phrase "student rights." Every student should be informed of the legal rights as stated in the Indian Constitution.
Right to Information
The right to information essentially means that no educator or other authority figure can withhold knowledge from a pupil.
Right to freedom of speech and expression
A student is free to voice their opinions on any subject without fear, but you cannot abuse this freedom or use it as a pretext to degrade your college.
Right to education
In any government-aided school, every child in India is entitled to an education up to the 10th grade. This right aims to make elementary education compulsory for kids aged 6 to 14.
Right to Life and personal liberty
According to this, every student should be able to get education in a setting that is free from fear and characterised by freedom and dignity. Teachers are not allowed to physically harm or verbally abuse.
Right to equality
There shouldn't be any prejudice towards any student because of their caste, creed, sexual orientation, political opinions, or religion.
