What is the difference between IES and ESE?

The UPSC engineering services exam (ESE) also known as UPSC IES (Indian Engineering Services) recruits to cater to the technical and engineering needs of the country. It comprises, engineers designated as Class – 1 officers.
UPSC
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is responsible for conducting the Engineering
Services Examination 2023. The Commission will shortlist the candidates for the posts through Preliminary and Main Examination.
Range
They oversee a significant portion of the public sector economy, including Indian Railways, Power, Telecommunications, Central Water Engineering, Defense Service of Engineers, and Central
Engineering Service, especially.
Stages
It is a combined four-stage competitive examination (comprising six tests). The Examination constitutes a written examination followed by an interview for the personality test.

Technical Sector
